Mrs. Agnes Tutje, after a lingering illness of eleven days, passed to the Great Beyond Sunday August 25th. She had been very low for the past few days and her death was momently expected. She lived to the ripe old age of 85 years, and her death has been due to no particular cause excepting that of a generally worn out condition, commonly expressed as death caused as the result of old age. Deceased was born in Riefe Germany, coming to America in 1883 with her husband and locating at Bellevue Illinois for eleven years and from there moving to Matlock, which has since been her home. The deceased is well and favorably known in this vicinity and her demise is one which is causing considerable grief among her former associates. She was of a kind and lovable disposition and her death is particularly hard on her husband and children, who already feel the loss of a tender mother's hand. Three children were born to bless the union of Mr. and Mrs. Tutje, two girls and one boy--Mesdames Henry and Simeon Olthoff of Doran, Minn., and Albert Tutje near Matlock. The funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the church here in Matlock, Rev. Jordan officiating. Interment was made in the Matlock cemetery. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in their hour of bereavement.
