Mrs. Gertrude (Wise) Fassett passed quietly to her eternal rest last Tuesday evening April 17th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.H. Tutje. Mrs. Fassett had been enjoying good health up to the last few months when she was confined to her home with dropsy and unable to attend to her duties.

Funeral services were conducted by Dr. J.J. Bushnell of the Baptist Church at Sheldon Saturday afternoon and interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery near that town. Mrs. Fassett was born in Lorraine, New York March 12, 1842. On November 3, 1862 she was united in marriage to Henry P. Fassett, who died twenty years ago. To this union seven children were born. In 1902 Mrs. Fassett came to Matlock to make her home. Edna, her youngest daughter lived with her until her death twelve years ago. For the last five years, the deceased made her home with her son, Floyd at Ruso, North Dakota.

The children who survive her are John of Sheldon, Sidney of Minot, North Dakota, Floyd of Ruso, North Dakota, Mrs. E.E. Stewart of Watertown, New York and Mrs. Florence Tutje of Sheldon. Besides the children there are several grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
