Mrs. Wesley Beckman, nee Matilda Belling, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 15th at 2:00 o'clock in her home at Chandler, Minnesota.

Her health not being of the best, influenza took her from us after a few days illness. Matilda Belling was a daughter of Fred and Caroline Belling and Caroline Belling. She was born on the farm home near Boyden, October 15, 1889 and passed away at the age of 53 years and 3 months. She was baptized and brought up in the Lutheran church north of Boyden. She attended the rural school near her home. Upon completing her elementary education as she continued at the Boyden High School. For several years she was employed as a telephone operator at Boyden.

She was married to Wesley Beckman May 4th 1910. They lived on a farm near Bigelow MN one year, on a farm near Melvin for three years, then moved to a farm south of Chandler MN., where they resided for three years after which they moved to Chandler and since made it their home.

To this union were born two daughters, Beverly Beatrice and Mr. Orvil Groves. Besides her husband and two daughters deceased is survived by two brothers. Andrew Balling and Henry Belling of Chandler MN, two sisters Mrs. Emma Stutzman and Mrs. Frank Connor of Sanborn. And infant grandson Farroll Groves of Chandler MN as well as other relatives and a large number of relatives and a large number of friends. She was preceded in death by her father in 1926, her mother in 1927, her sister Ann in 1917, and by sister Marie Wright of Santa Ana, CA just 18 days before.

Funeral services were held at the come at 10 a.m. and in the church at 10:30 a.m. at Chandler MN conducted by Rev. Nelson, after which the today was brought to Boyden and funeral services were conducted at the U. P. church at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Clyde. The Cook sisters from Chandler sang Beautiful Isle of Somewhere. Mrs. Clyde and Miss Bertha Heitritter sang In the Sweet By and Be and Face to Face. Interment was made at the Boyden cemetery beside her parents. Many beautiful flowers were presented.

All brothers and sisters were in attendance at the funeral. Other relatives attending from a distance were Mrs. Chas. Beckman from Iowa City; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Beckman from Melvin, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bekman of Melvin; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Beckman, Mrs. and Mrs. L. B. Stutzman of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. James Koele from Maurice and many friends from Chandler MN, Hull Sanborn and Sheldon attended the funeral.
