Garnmeister, Viola, (Mrs. Elmer) 1915-1965

Viola Garnmeister, the daughter of Henry A. and Frieda Stoehr, was born July 18, 1915 in Sioux County, Iowa. She received her formal education in the Sioux County schools and her early religious training in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hull, Iowa.

On Nov. 21, 1935, she was joined in marriage with Elmer Garnmeister in First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
After their marriage they made their home in rural George, Iowa, where they engaged in farming, until recent years when they retired from farming and made their home in George.

After moving to the George area, she tranferred her church membership to the Immanuel Lutheran congregation, where she was a very active and faithful member until her death.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband Elmer; two sisters, Alvina (Mrs. Fred Jantzen) of Hull, IA, and Ethel (Mrs. John Van De Berg) of Sioux Center, IA; one brother, Arthur Stoehr of Hull, IA; and other relatives and host of friends.

She suddenly was called to her eternal rest while a surgical patient at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital of Rock Rapids about 10:30 a.m. on May 25, 1965, at the age of 49 years 10 months and 7 days.

Interment was in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery , George, Iowa.
