A sad accident occurred on our streets Wednesday afternoon whereby Carl Pingel living nine miles southeast of Granville, lost his life. Mr. and Mrs. Pingel and daughter had been doing their trading and when ready to go home Mrs. Pingel and daughter got into the wagon first. Mr. Pingel was about to get into the wagon when the horses started throwing him off his balance and he fell under the wheels which passed over his chest. He was carried into the Theodore Wiltgen home and Dr. Wagner was called but medical attention was of no avail and he passed into eternity. Mrs. Pingel and children have the sympathy of the entire community.
