The sad news came flashing over the wire Friday noon that Mrs. Emma Neihaus, who was receiving treatment at the German hospital in Sioux City, had suddenly passed away. It was thought she was getting better and the sad news came as a great surprise to the husband and daughter, who went to Sioux City on the evening train and on Saturday brought the body home. Mrs. Neihaus was a good woman and those who knew her best speak only in the highest terms of her. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and one daughter and several brothers and sisters. A brother and sister from Guttenburg and a brother from West Bend were here to attend the funeral which was held from the German Lutheran church Monday afternoon and was very largely attended. Most of te business houses were closed while the funeral was going on.
