Dick De Vries, well known resident of Orange City, passed away Wednesday morning. March 11, at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Herman Mouw, here. He was 88 years of age. Mr. De Vries was born in Utrecht, Holland, where he lived until he came to America. He lived in Sioux county for some time and later moved to Crofton, Nebraska. In 1915 he returned to Sioux county and settled at Orange City. He married Miss Antje Kranz to which union ten children were born. Mrs. De Vries died in March, 1922, and two children.

Also preceded him in death—Mrs. Alida Owens, and Dick of Bloomfield NE. Surviving him are the following children. Mrs. A. L. Oliver, Buffalo , SD; Mrs. Peter Novle, Java SE; Mrs. J. J. Bushelman, Fordyce NE; Mrs. John Bontjes, Schagen Netherlands; John of Puposkery MN; Jake of Iron Springs Alberta CA; Cornelius of Glendive MT; and Walter of Denver CO .

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Van Etten Funeral home with Rev. J. G. Brouwer
officiating. Burial was made at the Orange City cemetery.
