Mrs. T. J. De Vries
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church in Orange City March 11 for Mrs. T. J. De Vries 91, of Orange City, who died at the Sioux Center Hospital March 8. Services were conducted by the Rev. Alvin Essens and burial was made in West Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. De Vries was born December 8, 1878, in the Netherlands. She came to the U. S. with her parents as a young girl. She was married to T. (Tjerk) J. De Vries March 1, 1906. The couple farmed in the Orange City area until 1929 when they moved into Orange City. Mr. De Vries died in 1962.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gerrit TeSlaa of Hull, Mrs. Ray Vander Wel of Orange City and Mrs. Ed Moss of Sioux Center, a son John De Vries of Montevideo MN. 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

(The Sioux County cemetery index lists her husband ad T. J. Tjerk born 1879 died 1962 her name was Anna They are both buried in West Lawn Cemetery Orange City IA. Her maiden name according to the 1925 census was De Vries daughter of Eeltje De Vries and Tetje Holmerda/Holwerda?.)
