FUNERAL SERVICES, FRIDAY, FOR MR. CORNELIUS ELBERS

Funeral services for Mr. Cornelius (Case) Elbers will be held Friday, February 19th, at 1:00 P.M. at the home and at 1:30 P.M. at the First Reformed Church in Hull. Interment will be in hope Cemetery, Hull. The Reverend N. Rozeboom will officiate and pall-bearers will be Nick Slager, Hennie Beckman, Ben Vander Kooi, Pete Dykstra, Al Vroonland and John Ten Haken.

Cornelius Elbers passed away Monday evening at 9:00 o’clock at the home of his son, Henry. Death was due to a heart ailment.

He was born August 5, 1873, at Den Helder Province, North Holland. He came to the United States at the age of 18 years and made his home north of Orange City, Iowa.

On February 22, 1905, he was united in marriage to Johanna Wiechers. To this union three sons were born, all of whom survive. They are: John of Edinburg, Texas; Henry of Alford, Iowa, and Jake of Hull. Also surviving are three grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who passed away on October 23, 1950; his parents and four sisters.

Mr. and Mrs. Elbers farmed in the vicinity of Hull until the spring of 1942 when they retired and moved to Hull.
