Requiem high mass for Mrs. Celia Engeldinger, 65, who died Wednesday of a coronary thrombosis at the hospital here where she had undergone surgery twice, was celebrated by her nephew, Reverend Richard Zeak, chaplain of St. Vincent's Hospital in Sioux City, at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home. The rosary had been led by Father L. Friedman at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Friday evening. Prior to the funeral services, the nurses and hospital employees formed an honor guard from the entrance of the church.

Mrs. Engeldinger, the former Ceclia Ney, was born April 2, 1899, at Pipestone, Minnesota. She came to this area as a girl and lived in Union County,South Dakota, on a farm later moving to Hawarden. She attended St. Vincent's School of Nursing from which she graduated in 1928. On October 16,1929 she married Mike Engeldinger at Hawarden and he operated the Chevrolat Garage. He died June 17, 1943.

For the past 21 years, Mrs. Engeldinger was a registered nurse at the Hawarden hospital. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Guild.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Lucille) Muth and Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Lowell both of Hawarden, and two brothers, Leo Ney of Madison,South Dakota, and Gene Ney of St. Peter Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joe Ney of Hawarden in 1942 and another brother Tony Ney, also in Hawarden in 1955.
