Linda Jean Mulder, 70, of Carmel, IA, died unexpectedly September 13, 2016, at her home.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, from 2-5 PM, with the family present from 3-5 PM, at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 19, at 10:30 AM at the Carmel Reformed Church of Carmel, Iowa with Pastor Mike Pitsenberger officiating. Interment will follow the service in Carmel Cemetery.
   
    Linda was born to Willis and Ada Agnes (Brouwer) Ten Haken on August 12, 1946 in Hull, Iowa. She was raised in Hull, attended country grade school and later graduated from Boyden-Hull High School. She married Bernard Mulder on February 26, 1965 at the 1st Reformed Church located in Hull, Iowa. The couple made their home in Chino, California for 1 year. They returned back to Iowa and moved to Lebanon, where they farmed for approximately 10 years.  They then moved to Carmel where they made their permanent home. 
Linda worked at Franken Implement and Service of Carmel, Iowa for over 25 years, retiring this summer. She was an active and faithful member of Carmel Reformed Church, member of the Helping Hands, and volunteered whenever needed.  Linda enjoyed taking care of her lawn, tending to her garden and spending hours canning and freezing its produce. It was her greatest joy spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school activities. They will fondly remember Grandma always having chocolate chip cookies ready for them in the freezer. She also enjoyed her annual trip to Lake Pomme de Terre, MO, with the Girls of 64’.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard, of 51 years; children Teresa and Owen Sandbulte of Carmel, IA; Terry and Lisa Mulder of Sioux City, IA; Bryan Mulder of Arnolds Park, IA; and Carmen and Nathan Maassen of Sioux Center, IA, and 9 grandchildren. Her in-laws, Arnetta (Ten Haken) Van Peursem, Vine De Zeeuw/Kaemingk, Arletta (Clarence) Dorhout, Harley (Elise Jean) Mulder.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Harold Ten Haken and Alan Ten Haken, and her sister Lois Visser.
