Funeral services for Miss Jasmine Buckley were held in St. Mary’s Church here Saturday morning at 9 o’clock. Miss Buckley passed away in the Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco last Sunday and the body was shipped to Maurice for burial.

She was 38 years of age and had been a nurse in various hospitals in Denver and San Francisco.

Reverend Joseph Wolfe of Struble and Reverend J.P. Murphy of Fonda, Iowa had charge of the services. Interment was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Funeral services were held at Maurice Saturday morning, September 14th, at nine o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Miss Jasmine E. Buckley who passed away September, 1940 at Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco, California after an illness of several months.

Miss Buckley was born August 28, 1902, at Maurice and was raised to young womanhood in this vicinity. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy, Alton, and attended Mount St. Clare at Clinton. She was a graduate of St. Vincent’s School of nursing, Sioux City, Iowa. After completing her training there she was employed at Providence, Rode Island for a time. For the past 12 years she had been associated with the Army Nurse Corps at Fitzsimmons Hospital, Denver, Colorado and Letterman General Hospital, San Francisco, California.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. G. Reynolds, Detroit, Michigan and five brothers, Ben of Le Mars, Doctor Bernard of Fonds, Robert of Eldridge, California and Edward and Fred of Maurice.

Reverend Joseph Wolfe, pastor of St. Mary’s Church and Reverend J.P. Murphy of Fonda officiated at the funeral services here, with the Wiltgen Funeral Home of Le Mars in charge. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery beside the remains of her parents who both preceded her in death.
