Funeral services for Evert Brunsting, 91, will be held at 1:30 Thursday, June 20, at the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden with Reverend Kenneth Vis officiating. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.
He died June 18 at the Hawarden Community Hospital.
Mr. Brunsting, a son of Albert and Jennie (Kok) Brunsting, was born March 13, 1877, at Beilen, The Netherlands. At the age of 12, he moved from Hull to the Hawarden community where he farmed.
He married Jeanette Zorgdrager at Archer, Iowa, on December 8, 1902. They celebrated their 65th anniversary last December.
He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Hawarden and was a founder of that church in 1917.
He was a director of the Farmers State Bank and past president of Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Hull.
Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Mrs. R. J. Obbink of Hawarden; three sons, John and Albert of Hawarden and Edward of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Al Reinders of Coronado, California; 20 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanette, and two sons, Fred and Harry.
