DeLeeuw services Held Here Saturday
Funeral services were held Saturday for Albert De Leeuw who died at his home here on Nov 24 after a lingering illness. Services were held in the Netherlands Reformed church with Rev. J. Van Zweden officiating. Vander Ploeg’s of Sheldon were in charge of arrangements. Burial was made in Valley View cemetery. Pallbearers were the grandsons Ben and Albert Vanden Berg, Albert Bernard John and Henry Bakker.

Mr. De Leeuw was born Feb. 11, 1867 at Kampen Netherlands He married Jennie Veltkmap and to this couple five children were born, three of whom died in infancy in Holland and one daughter Mrs. John Vanden Berg in 1940. Mrs. De Leeuw died on March 30 1920. He was then married to Mrs. Jennie Van Maanen on Nov 7, 1927 at Rock Valley. He is survived by his wife and one daughter Fannie Mrs. Gerrit Bakker of Rock Valey. 11 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, also he is survived by eight step children. Mrs. John Van Sloten, Ed Van Maanen, Arie Van Maanen, Bert Vand Maasen, Hattie Mrs. Bert Jacobsma, Lusy Mrs. Herman Zwak, Berth Mrs. Jake Bartman, Annie Mrs. Sam T. Kooima, 85 step grandchildrenand two brothers John of the Netherlands and gerrit of Hull.
