Albert H. Brunsting, the last surviving child of Hendrick Brunsting and Janetje Rons, passed away on May 19, in the Sioux Center Hospital. After a lingering illness, he died at the age of 73 years.

Mr. Brunsting was born on October 27, 1897, at Hull, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Jeannette Rikkers on February 22, 1923, and to this union four daughters were born: Evelyn (Mrs. Max Kuyk) from Charleston, West Virginia, Lucille (Mrs. M.S. Noordhoff) from Taipei, Taiwan, Joyce (Mrs. Eugene Vander Well) from Lynnwood, Washington and Bette from West Lafayette, Indiana.

Mr. Brunsting was a faithful member of the First Reformed Church of Hull, Iowa, where he served as a Deacon and an Elder for many years. He was also the President of the Adult Sunday School Class and a member of the Men's Brotherhood.

He was active in the community as President of the Farmers Cooperative Association and Treasurer of the Hull Christian School Board.

Mr. Brunsting is survived by his wife, Jeannette, and his four daughters; three son-in-laws and thirteen grandchildren: Juli, John, James, Kris and Kristin Kuyk; Nancy, Samuel, Anne and Dirck Noordhoff; Leah, Lynn, and Stephen Vander Well.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henrick Brunsting; his sisters, Hatttie (Mrs. Barney Westra) and Winnie (Mrs. Conrad De Wild) and his brothers, Peter, Luke, Ralph and Tuenis.

Except for the past half year, Mr. Brunsting lived his entire life on a farm near Hull. He retired from active farming in 1958 after incurring his first heart attack. Recently he moved into a home on Second Street in Hull.

The memorial service for Albert H. Brunsting was held on Saturday, May 22, 1971, at 1:30 o'clock at the First Reformed Church of Hull with Rev. David TerBeest officiating. Music for the service was provided by the Boote Brothers Quartet who sang Mr. Brunsting's favorite hymn, "Sun of My Soul." The congregation sang the hymn, "The Solid Rock," requested by Lucille Noordhoff from Taipei, Taiwan. Mrs. John Koele was the organist. Casket bearers were Ben Dykstra, William Riphagen, Willis Ten Haken, Edward Van't Hul, Dan Wesselink and Jake Zoet. Internment was in the Hope Cemetery in Hull and the arrangements were by the Kraai Funeral Home.
