Mrs. Christina De Jong
Funeral services for Mrs. Christina De Jong, 90, who passed away at the local hospital last week Wednesday after being a patient for the past 2 ½ years and an invalid 4 ½ years, were held Saturday afternoon at Trinity Ref church with the Rev. Donald Lenderink officiating. The Van Etten Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral.

Mrs. De Jong, nee Christina Newendorp, was born Feb, 10, 1876, the daughter of the late Christian
Newendorp and Neeltje Vander Meer-Newendorp. She grew up in this vicinity and spent her entire
life in this area. In 1897 she was married to Koenraad H. De Jong of Orange City who passed away Dec. 20, 1921. There were four children, one of whom died in infancy.

Surviving are: Rev. Spencer De Jong, Monrovia, Calif.; Julius, and Florence, Mrs. Albert Heemstra, both of Orange City; also 6 grandchildren, and one brother Fred Newendorp of St. Petersburg, Fla
