From the Sioux County Capital of Apr 22, 1943

Wiltje Peter De Jager, 94, passed away at the home of his daughter Mr. and Mrs. John Kamstra at Ireton, Sunday April 18 at 6 a.m. His death was caused by old age. The decedent was born January 10, 1849 at Menaldum, Vriesland. In 1875 he married Lieuwtje Frances Holwerda of Vriesland.

To his union were born 4 children; Annie Mrs. Herman Vander Bill of Prinsburg MN, who died at the age of 46 years; Gertie Mrs. Nick Dykema of Roseland, MN, Bertha Mrs. Ben Dykema of Roseland MN and Peter who died at the age of 6. The family came to America in the year 1881. On March 21, 1895 Mrs. DeJager died.

IN the year 1898 he was married to Mrs. Siebe Siebersma who had 5 Children; Gertie, Mrs. Martin DeJager of Orange City; Jennie Mrs. Geo. De Vries of Orange City; Steve Siebersma of Sheldon; Cornie Siebersma, who died 4 years ago and Elizabeth, Mrs. Gerrit Kroeze of Orange City. The children born to this second union were Emma, Mrs. John Kamstra of Ireton; Peter DeJager of Maurice and Lucy, Mrs. Chas. Kuhl of Maurice. The family lived on a farm between Maurice and Orange City 20 years after which they moved to Orange City whre they have lived 25 years. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. and the First Ref. church of Orange City with Rev. H. Colenbrander officating. Interment was made in the Maurice cemetery.
