GERRIT DE BONDT, 29
Gerrit De Bondt passed away at the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls, S. Dak., Thursday, July 29, after a lingering illness. He had reached the age of 29 years, 4 months and 4 days.

Gerrit was born March 25, 1925, at Sioux Center, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He was inducted into the Army in June of 1945, and served his country until his discharge in the spring of 1947. He then located in Kansas City, Mo., here he was united in marriage to Miss Betty Heinz. He lived there until November of 1953 when he entered the hospital at Sioux Falls and the family lived in that vicinity until the time of his death.

Surviving are his widow and two small children; also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Teunis; De Bondt end eight brothers and sisters. They are Mrs. Marie Winterfeld of Sioux Center, Mrs. Madeline Koning of Bellflower, Calif., Bernard and Henry De Bondt of Hull, Mrs. Caroline De Haan of Orange City, William De Bondt who is serving with the army in Japan, Evert and Tommy De Bondt at home. William arrived home Tuesday on an emergency furlough.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Miller Funeral Home at Sioux Falls, and on Tuesday afternoon at the home, with military graveside services.
