WILLIAM J. DEBRUYN
William J. De Bruyn. 80 of 1222 Northwestern Avc.. Ames, Iowa, died November 4 at the Mary Greeley Memorial Hospital in Ames. Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. cm Sunday. November 9 at the Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames. Helser Chapel, with the Rev. Harry Strong officiating. Internment will be in Sioux Center at a later date.

Mr. De Bruyn was born December 19. 1899 at Pella. Iowa, and moved to Ames from Sioux Center in 1964. He was a Pella High School graduate and attended Central College in Pella. Mr. De Bruyn also was a 1936 graduate of the Hohensschuh-Carpenter Embalming School of St. Louis and he managed funeral homes in Sioux Center and Pella.

He married Christine Klein on June 23, 1926 at Sioux Center. She proceeded him in death on February 8, 1978. Mr. De Bruyn was a member of the Collegiate Presbyterian Church of Ames.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion and the Pella Kiwanis Club, for which he served as secretary for many years.

Survivors include one daughter, Rosemary (Mrs. Robert) Taylor of Rte. 1, Ames; and two grandsons.
