From the Alton Democrat, April 28, 1917: Shelon news:
Mr. Brinkman passed away at his home in the vicinity of Boyden, on Friday [April 20]. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, and were followed by interment in East Lawn cemetery. The deceased man was a brother of Mr. D. H. Brinkman--the Sheldon stockman, to whom local residents tender sympathy.

From the Sioux County Index (Hull), April 27, 1917: Boyden News:
Mr. W. H. Brinkman died at his home near Sheldon, Wednesday evening. Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery, Monday afternoon.

The 1910 U.S. census for Grant Township, Sioux County, has William H. Brinkman, age 60, born in Holland, a farmer working his own farm, living with his wife Anna, age 61, born in Holland, and son Harry, age 40, born in Holland and working on the home farm.

According to the probate Letters of Administration on Ancestry.com, he died intestate and Egbert Wiltenduik[?] was appointed administrator of his estate.
