Donald Boon, 18, of rural Rock Rapids, died at a Sioux Falls hospital after suffering head injuries in a car-pick-up collision, which injured six other persons Monday afternoon on a county road intersection six miles north of Rock Valley.

He was riding in a pickup with his father, Isaac Boon, 46, who was injured seriously, and a brother, David, 11, who suffered lacerations and head injuries.

They were taken to the Sioux Valley hospital at Sioux Falls where Mr Boon and his son, David, were considered in "only fair" condition.

Patrolman Roy Vogel of Orange City said that it had not been determined who was driving the pickup when it collided with a car carrying four Hull Western Christian high school boys, who were returning home from a ball game, which was not played because of rain at Larchwood.

They suffered cuts, bruises, and abrasions and were taken to Rock Rapids for medical attention.

Mr Boon suffered a face fracture, injuries to the left leg and both arms, and other lacerations.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, in the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley for Donald Boon with the Reverend J. Van Zweden officiating.

Note: He was the son of Isaac and Cornelia Teunissen Boon.
