Died: February 15, 1941Mrs. E. Bonestroo, Sr., who had been ill for many weeks, passed away at her home in Perkins Saturday evening, February 15th, at the age of 82 years. She celebrated her 82nd birthday December 31st of last year.
Mrs. E. Bonestroo, nee Eibertje Juffer, was born December 31st, 1858 at Uunspect, Province of Gelderlands, the Netherlands. She was married to Eibert Bonestroo on February 19th, 1886. The family came to America in 1890.
The family first settled at Alton and lived in various places, Sioux Center, Boyden and Hull, before locating at Perkins in 1913. Eight children blessed this union, three having preceded her in death, two in infancy, and a daughter, Mary (Mrs. William Boeva) in 1918. Besides her ever helpful husband she is survived by five sons: Tim of Doon, Bert of Perkins, Ben of Hull, Andrew of Kerhoven, Minnesota and Henry of Perkins. Also 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, February 19, at the home at 1:00 o’clock and from the First Reformed Church of Hull at 1:30 with Reverend G.H. Douwstra officiating. Burial was in the Hope Cemetery at Hull.
