DR.John DEBEY SUCCUMBS TO HEART ATTACK
Prominent Physician, Civic Leader Dies
Dr. John G. De Bey, well known Orange City physician and surgeon and prominent civic leader, passed on early Monday morning after a month's illness following a heart attack, from, which he had suffered at intervals for some years.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2:00 o'clock at the American Reformed church, Chaplain Nattress of Ft. Niagara, N. T., officiating. John Girard De Bey was born in Chicago June 1-7, 1883. He received his early education in the Orange City public school and Northwestern Academy and graduated in 1910 from the medical school of Drake University. Thereafter he studied graduate surgery at Illinois Post Graduate school in Chicago.

On June 15, 1911, he married Nina Lee Creger. He practised in Orange City with great success since 1910, was a member of the City council since 1928 and of the public school board for 13 years. He was a charter, member of the Lions club and its first president, a. member of Floyd Masonic lodge and past master of the lodge, member of the consistory of the American Reformed church at various time, and long a member of the choir.

He was a splendid musician anaccomplished singer and skillful flutist, having played for four years with the Sioux City Symphony orchestra. His other hobbies were short wave - radio and photography. Dr. De Bey occupied a unique plate, in the community when he served so long and faithfully, following in the steps of his father, De. A. De Bey pioneer Sioux County physician. His passing is deeply regretted by hundreds of friends thorought out the county. He is survived by his wife, a son, Girard of Baltimore, Md., and daughter, Mrs. Delia Beth Thomson of Orange City; his mother, rs. A. De Bey of Orange City; three brothers and a sister, namely: Dr. Cornelius of Denver; Mrs. Geo Dempsey of Oklahoma City; Albert living in the East; Dirk of Los Angeles and by four grandchildren .

Mrs. A. De Bey who had been visiting in Oklahoma City with daughter, arrived Tuesday with Mrs. Dempsey and others of the family are expected before the services today.
