Mrs. Gordon Dearborn died of a heart attack at Council Bluffs shortly before noon on Saturday October 6, 1951. Mrs. Dearborn was busy ironing when her daughter said she would go into the kitchen to prepare some lunch, when she heard a thud and went in to find her mother lying on the floor. She called the hospital unit but Mrs. Dearborn was dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Mrs. Gordon Dearborn (nee Fannie Vugteveen) was born near Corsica, S. D., September 28, 1891 and came with her parents and brothers and sisters to this vicinity 53 years ago at the age of seven. She attended country school in the vicinity of her home. She was also employed as a cook in the Rock Valley Hospital for many years.

She was married to Gordon Dearborn September 17, 1917 at Canton, S. D. She was the mother of three children, Evelyn (Mrs. Harvey Larson) and another daughter Pearl who died at the age of two months in March 1921 and one son Gerrit. She has continued to reside in Rock Valley until November, when the couple went to live with their daughter in Council Bluffs.

Beside her husband Gordon she is survived by her children, Mrs. Harvey Larsen of Council Bluffs, and Gerrit of Hawarden, Iowa, one grandson, Harvey Lynn Larsen, three brothers, William of Rock Valley, Gerrit of Princeton, Minnesota, Henry G. of Hawarden, Sena, (Mrs. John T. Dykstra, Rock Valley;) Cliristena (Mrs. Clarence De Vries) Zeeland, Michigan;) Lyda (Mrs. George Brandsma) Hawarden.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church at 2:00 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon with Rev. M. L. Jones officiat*ing. Interment will be made in Valley View Cemetery.
