Jessie Boer, 88, formerly of Alton, Iowa, died Friday, March 19, 1993, at the Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley.

Jessie Hoekstra was born January 27, 1905, in Rock Valley. She worked in Sioux Falls as a housekeeper, until her marriage.

She married John Boer on June 9, 1938, in Sioux Falls. He died in December of 1974. They lived in Alton. She became a resident of the nursing home on June 4, 1988.

She was a member of the Alton Reformed Church for 47 years.

Survivors include one brother, John of Jenison, Michigan; four sisters: Lena Pieksma of Bellflower, California, Fanny Ekema of Redland, California, Sue Kooima and Anna Dirksen, both of Rock Valley; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley, with burial in the Nassanu Township Cemetery in Alton.
