Delbert E. Day, 81, of Hawarden, died Aug. 1 at the Hawarden Hospital. Services were held at 1:30p.m. Sat at the Associated Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Herbert Young officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton with the Dow Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Day was born April 35, I893 at Ireton. He married Velma Brown Feb. 10, 1915 at Ireton. Mr. and Mrs. Day farmed in the Ireton area and moved to the Spencer, S.D. area in 1918. They returned to Ireton in 1924, and moved to Hawarden in I960. Mr. Day was employed at the ASC office until 1957 when he retired. He was a member of the Dale Lodge 456, Hawarden Chapter 119 of the Royal Arch Masons, and the .Associated Church.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. William (Carol) Wangen of Long Beach, Calif, and Mrs. Marvin (Wanda) Schmidt of Ireton; one son, Herbert "Bus" of Ireton; one Mater, Miss Eva Day of Hawarden; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson.
