Death: October 15, 1934

Mrs. Peter A. Bloemendaal of Sheldon, a former resident of this vicinity, passed away suddenly at her home Monday following a heart attack. Funeral services were held at Van Dyke's Funeral Home in Sheldon at 10:30 this morning and the remains were then brought to Hawarden and services will be held at the Methodist Church here at 2:30 this afternoon. Reverend Robert H. Forrester, pastor of the local Methodist church, had charge in Sheldon and will be in charge of the services this afternoon. Burial will be made in Grace Hill cemetery.

Lydia Opal Allen was born in Jefferson county, Illinois, July 5, 1908, so was but 26 years of age at the time of her death. She came to Hawarden with her parents in 1920 and was united in marriage with Peter A. Bloemendaal of Sheldon February 5, 1934. Since her marriage she made her home on a farm near Sheldon.

Her father passed away suddenly April 15, 1934, while on his way to church. She leaves to mourn her untimely death her husband, her mother, Mrs. Isabell Allen of Hawarden; three brothers, Sharpe Allen of Alcester; Fred and Ben Allen of Sheldon; four sisters, Mrs. S.S. Highsmith of Hawarden; Mrs. C.C. Merritt of Sioux City; Mrs. Chester Vipond of Hudson, and Mrs. Leonard Hampton of Adrian, Minnesota.
