Death invaded the W. H. Wellman home in the vicinity of Hospers on Thursday of last week and claimed the gentleman's aged mother who had for years made her home with her son, where loving hearts and willing hands ministered to her spiritual and temporal necessities. Her demise was caused by paralysis. Funeral services were held on Saturday at he Baker Methodist Episcopal church, after which the remains were interred in the Philby cemetery. The bereaved friends and relative have the sympathy of all in the loss which they sustained.

Wellman age 36 and wife Augusta 30. Grandchildren of Rebecca were Grace 9, Mabel 8, David 7 and Ina 11 mo. On ancestry.com it was further found the Rebecca Bales was Mrs. David W. Wellman )
