Rites Thursday For Mrs. P. Croat
Funeral services were held Thursday morning August 9 at 9:00 in St. Josephs church for Mrs. Frances Croat, of Granville, who died Monday morning, August 6 in Mc Kennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, at the age of 78 years, after a several months illness. Rev. F. F. Dalhoff officiated at the Requiem High Mass assisted by Sr. Joseph Choir. Mrs. Croat was a faithful member of St. Joseph Parish and also the Christian Mother’s Confraternity. Burial was made in the family lot in St. Joseph cemetery by Frazier Funeral homes of Hawarden. Pallbearers were A. J. Miller, Geroge Borman, Arnold Meuhl, John Hodapp, Adolph Fischer and Art Schemmel,

Frances Domnisse was born Sept. 22, 1872 in Wisconsin daughter of John and Frances Domnisse and moved with her parents to Iowa when a child. On December 8, 1890 she was married to Peter Croat. Settled on a farm south of Granville. Mr. Croat passed away August 5, 1938.

Surviving are two daughters and two sons namely; Mrs. Joe Miller, Lena of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Ray Schemmel, Bertha of Granville; Leo and Clarence Croat of Granville; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Josephine Hackman of Canby MN, Mrs. Kate Barr of Sioux City; Mrs. Lena Hilgert of Clark SD; Leo Domnisse of Cleghorn, IA. A daughter, Marth, passed away at the age of five and a son Fred, of Adrian MN died there on Dec 25, 1949.

Relatives coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Calhoun of Sioux City; Mrs. Rose Croat of Adrian, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Croat, of Beaver, Creek, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Boats and Melvin Croat of Rushmore, Minn., Mrs. Josephine Hackman, Mrs. Fritz Reike and children of Canby, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Hackman of St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Hackman, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Honacker of Canton, S. D., Mrs. Frances Rothenbuehler, Lucille and Karen , Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Boelter, Mrs. Hager, Mrs. Henry Shulte, Frank Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller of Sioux Falls, S. D., Mrs. Will Meyers, Mrs. George Wintz and daughters, Joe and Leonard Schemmel of Milford, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bixeman of Sanborn,. Henry Domnisse of Cleghorn, and Mr. Brown of Marcus.
