Peter Croat of Granville Died Friday Morning
Peter Croat prominent pioneer farmer of Granville, died at his home there Friday August 5, following a paralytic stroke. Mr. Croat was 69 years and 3 months old at the time of this death and had enjoyed good health up to the day of his death.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church with Rev. Father Gerleman officiating. Pallbearers were Joseph Reim, Nic Burlage, Frank Henimen, Philip Muehl. Henry Rieke and Joseph Bachman and interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery there.

Mr. Croat is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. Joe Miller (Lena) of Howard, S. D., Mrs. Ray Schemmel (Bertha), Leo and Clarence, all of Granville: Fred of Rushmore, Minn., and by seven grandchildren and fire brothers and one sister.

Peter Croat was born April 25, 1869 at St. Mary's, Iowa. He. was married to Frances Domisse on December 3, 1890 at St. Joseph's church in Granville by Rev. J. Tierney. He had farmed in the Granville vicinity all his life, giving up active management of his farm eight years ago to is son Clarence.

Mrs. Frank Bunkers and son Lawrence of New Vienna, Bill Croat and sons of St. Mary's. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Burr, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schemmel and Mr. and Mrs. Will Calhoun of Sioux City, Mrs. Mary Schemmel. Mr. and Mrs Matt Weniz of Milford, Mr. and Mrs. Will Heckmann of Canby MN, Mrs. Luella Klaisner of New Vieana, Matt Kuborn of Artesian, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rothemeuller and daughter of Garretson SD. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Elkins and son and Mrs. J. D Tonney of Sioux Cit Mrs. Anna Bancroft and son Mrs. Fancis Flaherty and Mrs. Susan Anderson of Marcus, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Domisse, Nic Domisse of Cleghorn J.P. Beck of Remsen and Mrs. And Mrs. Emile Lutsch of Oyens.
