Mrs. Anna Croatt succumbs at Alton
ALTON - Mrs. Anna Croatt, 90, longtime resident of the Alton community, died Wednesday at the home of a daughter at Alton, Mrs. J. A. Pohlen. Mrs. Croatt was born January 1, 1866, at Decadia, Wis. She came to Sioux county as a young girl with her parents. She was married April 25, 1887, to Nicholas Croatt at Hospers The couple farmed in East Orange township until 1921 when they retired and moved to Alton. Mr. Croatt died in 1951

Survivors are thr.ee sons Edward of Madison, Minn., Louis of Hospers and Leo of Belguim WI; three daughters, Mrs H.J. Plathe of Madison MN, Mrs. H. J. VanBoxtel of Battle Creek IA, and Mrs. Pohlen; 58 grandchildren and 127 great grandchildren. A son and two daughters preceded her in death

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic church at Alton. Burial was in the church cemetery.
