MRS JAY CROWTHER PASSED AWAY WEDNESDAY
Death Followed Illness of Two Weeks From Erysipelas. Leaves Husband and Three Children

Mrs. Jay Crowther passed about one o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the hospital at Akron following a short illness from erysipelas. She was taken sick about two weeks ago, and a week ago Sunday she was removed to the Akron hospital in order that she might receive the best of care but even though everything possible was done her system was unable to throw off the poisons of the disease.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the home and at 3 o'clock at the Baptist church in this city.

Veda Coble was the eldest daughter of Mrs. Ada Coble and was born at Missouri Valley, Iowa, Dec. 28, 1894 and passed away Sept. 24, 1924, so was 29 years, 8 months and 26 days old at the time of her death. She moved with her parents to Hawarden when a small girl and received her education in the Hawarden schools. On May 23, 1914, she was, united in marriage, with Jay Crowther and they made their home in this vicinity a few years and later they moved to Charter Oak and then to Kingsley, Iowa. About three years ago they moved back here and have made their home on a farm southwest of town. When a young girl she united with the Baptist church in this city and remained a member until her death.

Besides her husband she is survived by three small children, J. Russell aged 8 years, Robert Roland, age 6 years, and Corrine 'Catherine, age 4 years. She is also survived by her mother Mrs. Ada Coble of Hawarden, four brothers (illegible) of NE. Roy of Alhambra CA, Clyde of Murdo SD; Lawrence of Pasadena CA, and two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Johnson of Hudson and Miss Catherine of Hawarden.

Sincere sympathy of the entire community goes out to the grief stricken husband and especially to the three children who are robbed of the love and tender care of a mother, and to the mother, brothers and sisters.
