Funeral services were for Edna Mae Cooper, 74, who died Monday, July 12, 2004 on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sheldon United Methodist Church in Sheldon. Pastor Jeff Cooper officiated. Interment was Greenwood Cemetery, Matlock with Walton-Roste Funeral Home making the arrangements.

Edna Mae Cooper was born on December 17, 1929, in Milford, IA, the daughter of Ray Earl and Adella (Umbaugh) Dick. She attended school in the Arnold's Park and Okoboji area up to the 10th grade. On July 9,1957, she was united in marriage to Lester "Mort" Cooper in Arnold's Park. After marriage, the couple lived in Okoboji and owned and operated the Pier 30 Cafe near the Arnold's Park Amusement Park, and also operated a food stand at the Clay County Fair in Spencer. In 1972, they moved to a farm near Matlock. Mort died in 1979. Afterward, Edna worked part time at Joyce's Deli in Sheldon.

Edna was a member of the Church Of Christ in Sheldon. She enjoyed country western music, cooking and baking, working with her flowers, and being at home. She was a very hard worker and was willing to do anything for anybody, and she loved her kids and grandkids.

Edna is survived by her children; Tammy Harmon of Phoenix, AZ, Terry (Lisa) Cooper of Sibley, Debbie (Arnie) Vander Wilt of Hospers, Stewart (Niki) Cooper of Sheldon; eleven grandchildren, Angela Clifford, Tracy Gonzalez, Kristen Clifford, Amanda Cooper, Kevin Cooper, Desiree Vander Wilt, Kailee Vander Wilt, Jacob Vander Wilt, Mikael Cooper, Andy Cooper, Cody Cooper; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy Finn, Nichole Gonzalez, Levi Hales, Alyssa Flores, Kylie Christians; two sisters, ErmaChristiansen, of Milford, Darlene Hill of Minneapolis, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray & Adella Dick; her husband, Mort Cooper; two brothers, Kenny and Daryl Dick, and two sisters, Beverly Wieneke and Mary.
