Norbert Colling, 76, of Granville, died Friday, December 21, 1990, at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon after a lengthy illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 24,1990 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Granville, with the Rev. Robert W. Gralapp officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Colling was born September 4, 1914, at Granville, the son of Frederick and Mary (Marx) Colling. He was raised and educated in the Granville area. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School at Granville. He married Phyllis Christoffel on December 30,1941, at Remsen. The couple farmed near Granville. Mrs. Colling died March 17, 1980. He retired in 1987 and moved into Granville. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen and Vincent Stoll of Granville, Patricia and Kenneth Stringer of Geneseo, IL, Maria Jean and Bill Floyd and Jo Ann and Richard Getzschman, all of Omaha, NE; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Pat Colling of Kansas City, MO; 10 grandchildren; one greatgrandson; and six sisters, Mrs. Henry (Katherine) Haverkamp and Mrs. Isidore (Rita) Harpenau, both of Remsen, Mrs. Bill (Marian) Pottebaum of Marcus, Sister Mary Ramona of OSS of Sioux City, Mrs. Richar d (Agnes) LaBahn of Merrill and Mrs. Bob (Florence) Smid of Granville.

He was preceeded in death by his wife; one daughter, Carol; one brother, John; and one sister, Clara, when she was a child.
