Military Funeral Held For Fred Collenbaugh Wednesday Afternoon
Military funeral services were held Wednesday, April 20, for (Fred) Walter Collenbaugh, 62, who died of a heart attack in his home Sunday morning. Services were at 1: 30 p. m. in the home and at 2: 00 p. m. at the Methodist church, with Dr. N. A.. Price officiating. Burial was in Rock Rapids Cemetery.

Collenbaugh was born at Rock Rapids Iowa, February 23, 1895. He attended school and graduated in 1918 . The following year the family moved to Rock Valley where he was in business with his father, and brother, Paul. Fred was one of the first Rock Valley boys to enlist in the First World War, where he served in New Mexico and France.
He is survived by his two sisters, Mrs. Mabel McElroy Mrs. Ethel Wesselink, who made their home with him. One brother Paul E, of Rock Valley, one nephew, Pfc John was stationed in Chicago.

His parents preceded him m death in 1953 and one older brother, Charles, died in infancy.
