From the Rock Valley Bee, June 19, 1915:

DEATH OF FRED TENAPLE

Fred Tenaple died in the hospital at Sioux Falls Tuesday morning [June 15] after a little over a week's illness with bright's disease. He had not been very well for some time, but was not considered seriously ill until about June 10 when he was taken to the hospital. There he continued to fail rapidly, and Monday his brother, Henry Tenaple, who lives southwest of Rock Valley received a message from the hospital stating that he could not live. Mr. Tenaple hastened to his brother's bedside and stayed with him until the end came.

The deceased was born in Holland July 23, 1893, and was at the time of his death twenty-one years, ten months and twenty-two days old. His early life was spent in Holland. He came to this country about four years ago and most of that time lived in the vicinity of Rock Valley. The latter part of last August he was united in marriage to Miss Kate Botke who with his parents and four brothers and two sisters are left to morn. His parents, brothers and sisters, with the exception of Henry and one brother in Texas, live in Holland.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Reformed church in this city, conducted by the pastor, Rev. DeJonge, and the remains were buried in the Valley View cemetery. The bereaved wife and brother have the sympathy of friends here in their sorrow.
