Rachel died in her Dallas home surrounded by her family Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the age of 54.

Born in Rock Valley, Iowa on October 7, 1960, she moved to Hawarden in 1966 and graduated from West Sioux High School in 1979.

Rachel was a fabulous cook, relishing her passion on many a friend and foe. Witty, funny, sarcastic. She liked to sing and sew, sometimes both at the same time. Rachel enjoyed running and often participated in marathons.

She received her MS in Physical Therapy at University of Iowa and moved to Dallas to begin her 13-year career at Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation. She was an asset to her trade and her caring manner was appreciated by her patients and fellow therapists. She later spent three years at Bioness, Inc. training hospital staff to use their innovative equipment.

Rachel married the love of her life, Jim Mueller, in 2005. They loved woodworking, camping and visiting family and friends. She will be forever missed by Jim.

A wonderful daughter and sister, Rachel is survived by her parents, Lyle and Myrna Ver Hoef, her brother Joel, his wife Lynda and nephews Sam and Jack Ver Hoef.

Memorial Service will be held at Hickory Creek Park #90, Hickory Creek, Texas 75065, on February 7 at 2 p.m.
