Born: April 16, 1917
Died: December 26, 2014Alice was born on April 16, 1917 in Rock Valley, Iowa to Dave and Henrietta Buma. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her three daughters at San Antonio Community Hospital. As a young girl she traveled from Iowa in 1928 with her family, settling in Bellflower, California before moving to Artesia. During their long trip west they made a stop in New Mexico where they rested and slept on an Indian reservation. As a young, single lady she enjoyed spending time with friends and dancing the night away with the Navy boys in Long Beach, California. Dad was also a part of this social group to whom she later committed. She married Anthony "Tony" Molles on June 10, 1940. Together they had four children, Stanley, Lorraine, Mary, and Yvonne. They were married nearly 57 years until his death in 1997. She lived independently in her home in Artesia until her stoke in June, 2007. Throughout her life she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles–she was an expert, playing Bingo, gardening, baking–she made the best apple pie, watching game shows and in her young, married years going to the Los Alamitos racetrack with our Dad. Mom was also known for saying the best one-liners that would always generate a laugh. Alice and Tony had a great love and compassion for animals which they passed on to their children. They never turned away a homeless animal.
She is predeceased by her husband Tony, brothers Dick and Harry, sisters Jennie, Agnes and Hattie.
She is survived by her son Stan Molles and daughter-in-law Helen, Seal Beach, California; daughter Lorraine Wild, Upland, California; daughter Mary Kester, Fontana, California; daughter Yvonne Kaler, Rancho Cucamonga, California. Mom was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 4 step -great -grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank her caregivers at MAM Family Home (February 2011-December 2014) and Palm Delight Assisted Living (September 2007-February 2011). We are very grateful for the loving care she received from the ladies at both private homes. May our beloved Mother rest in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
