From the Rock Valley Bee, January 15, 1915:

PETER MOELLER DIES

Word was received here Friday evening of the death of Peter Moeller at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. Cordsen, at Concordia, Mo.

The deceased was born in Groszslat, near Fleutsburgh, Holstein, Germany, Sept. 16, 1827 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. Cordsen, at Concordia, Mo., Jan. 8, 1915, being 88 years, 9 months and twenty-two days of age. The illness was a brief one being brought on by old age.

He was a pioneer of Sioux county, coming over from Germany with his family twenty-two years ago, he first settled in Benton county, two years later he moved to Sioux county and settled south of Rock Valley, where he resided until seven years ago when he moved to Concordia, Mo., along with the Cordsen family. He was one of those hardy pioneers which helped to make this part of the state what it is today, struggling through the hardships and privations of pioneer life and rising through all this to success.

Funeral services were held at Concordia Sunday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. He leaves to mourn his loss four children, one daughter, Mrs. C. Cordsen, of Concordia, Mo., and three sons, Hans, Jacob and Martin Moeller, of Rock Valley, who have the sympathy of their friends in this heir time of loss.
