Erling (Eric) Erickson, 67, of Pocatello, ID, died Monday, December 5, at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT from a lingering illness. Services were held Friday, December 9, at 10 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Pocatello with the Rev. Manfred Bemdt officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 4, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No, 735, Disabled American Veterans No. 3, and the Southeast Idaho Freedom Birds Viet Nam, Bob Coates, Commander.

Erickson was born June 9, 1921, at Hawarden to John and Emma Eriksen. He attended schools in Hawarden. He served in the Navy during WWII. He married Joycelle WestfaJI at Las Vegas, NV. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a relay repairman until his retirement in 1982 He enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping. He made handcrafted silver and turquoise jewelry. He l oved his grandchildren and like to travel. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, where he held the office of elder for a short time. He was also a member of the Railroad Old Timers Club and the AARP.

He is survived by his wife of Pocatello; two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Susan) Jones, of Pocatello, and Mrs. Clint (Debra) Yarger, of Fort Worth, TX; one brother, John Eriksen, of Burbank, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Hilt, of Granada Hills, CA, and Mrs. Theodore (Martha) Youngkin, of Studio City, CA; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters
