Ellenor Rhodes, 78, died Monday, January 9,1989, at Finnely Hospital, in Dubuque. Ellenor Lae was born in Sioux County January 27, 1910, to Ole and Sena Lae. She married Merton Rhodes June, 1935 in Hawarden, living there one year. Her husband worked for Western Electric Telephone Co., and was transferred to several cities including Sioux City, Des Moines, Seattle, WA, Fargo, ND, St. Paul, MN, and lastly to Dubuque, where they retired.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Judy Gaul, of Luxemburg; two sons, Steven, of Onawa and David, of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Ole Lae, of Walker, MN; four sisters, Palma McKee, of Hawarden, Lillian Trudeau, of Alcestcr, SD, Clara Anderson, of Canton, SD, Alma Hudson, of Sioux Falls, SD; and 33 nephews and nieces. Her parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Services were held in Grand View Methodist Church Thursday, January 12. Interment was in Dubuque Cemetery.
