Hawarden Independent December 31, 1987

Henry Specht, 89, of Hawarden, died Thursday, December 24, 1987 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home, at Hawarden, following a long illness. . Services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 1987 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, at Chatsworth. The Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home, at Akron.

Mr. Specht was born October 31, 1898, at Le Mars. He was a lifelong resident of the Sioux City, Chatsworth and Hawarden areas. He worked as a welder and blacksmith, retiring to Hawarden in 1975. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, at Chatsworth. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
