Ruby Abbott, 64, of Hawarden, died Wednesday, September 30,1987, at the Hawarden Community Hospital following a long illness. Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 2, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. Rev. Loren Vogler officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m., October 1, at Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. Pallbearers were Dean White, Tim Ericson, John Breugem, Jerry Westling, Roger Abbott and Jim McKee.

Mrs. Abbott, the former Ruby Anderson, was born April 29, 1923, near Alcester. She married Lloyd Abbott March 5, 1942. The couple made their home in Hawarden. Mrs. Abbott was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, James, of Hawarden, and Michael, of Groton, CT; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Carol) Tilstra, of Hawarden; two brothers, Robert, of Beresford and Earl, of Omaha, NE; a sister, Mrs. Dale (Joyce) Boerma, of Maurice; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
