Irene D. Kallsen, 66, of Hawarden, died Sunday, October 4, 1987, in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Memorial services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. Rev. Loren Vogler officiated. The body was cremated and burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden.

Mrs. Kallsen, the former Irene Stowe, was born November 28, 1920, in Worthington, MN. She married Arthur E. Kallsen April 6,1942, in Yuma, AZ. The couple had lived in Hawarden the last 27 years. She was employed at the Hawarden Community Hospital for 13 years. Mrs. Kallsen was a Lutheran.

Survivors include her husband; six sons, Dennis of Tinley Park, IL, Steven and David, both of Minneapolis, Jeffery T. and Michael, both of Hawarden and Kevin of Enid, OK; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Sharon) Mayne of St. Louis, MO; a brother, Rex Stowe of Charles City; two sisters, Mrs. Fran Rogerts of Spencer and Mrs. Roy Cleo) Pfingsten of Crestview, FL, and eight grandchildren
