Effie I. Templeton, 94, of Boone, passed away at The Eastern Masonic Home on Sunday, September 27,1987. She was born June 1, 1893, in Hawarden, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis M. and Harriet Jane Williams-Meeter. On December 5, 1913, she married Paul C. Templeton at Hawarden. She attended Presbyterian Church and was a member of O.E.S. Magi Chapter No. 139. She was preceded in death by her husband and five brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Smith, of Des Moines; one granddaughter, two great grandchildren; one brother, Gordon W. Meeter, of Waterloo, and two nieces and nephews. Services were held Tuesday, September 29, at 1:30 p.m. in the Stark-Welin Chapel, Boone, with Rev. Richard Harken officiating. Interment was in Resthaven Cemetery in Des Moines.
