Lorene Wruck, 70, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City following a courageous year and half battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Reverend Christian Meier of St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars will officiate. Inurnment of her ashes will be at a later date in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. Visitation with the family present will after 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015, with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Carlsen Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the June E. Nylen Cancer in Sioux City.

Lorene Mary Campbell was born February 7, 1945 in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Sibyl (Agnes) Campbell. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Akron. She graduated from Akron High School in the class of 1962.

She was united in marriage to Robert Dekker on January 10, 1963. To this union, three children were born. They lived in Ireton, Iowa for twenty years and then moved to Jackson, Minnesota. She was accepted into the LPN program at NECC in Pipestone, Minnesota where she received her diploma in 1995.

She moved to Le Mars, Iowa where she met the love of her life. William Wruck and Lorene were united in marriage on December 23, 1995. Lorene worked at Brentwood and Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars. After leaving the nursing profession, Lorene went to work at Walmart in the deli for six years, until her health forced her to retire.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, and doing crafts. But most of all, she loved the time spent with friends and especially her family. Her family meant the world to her.

Survivors include her mother, Sibyl Campbell of Akron, IA; her brother: Marlin (Deborah) Campbell of Surprise, AZ; her husband, William Wruck of Le Mars; her childen: Teresa “Terri” (Brian) Treiber of Alcester, SD, Bradley Dekker of Phillip, SD, and Lanae “Suzi” (Chad) Kremer of Keystone, SD; her grandchildren: Tyler Dekker, Jordyn Dekker, Connor Dekker, Hannah Kremer, Grace Kremer, Isaac Kremer, Madison Treiber, and Jonathan Treiber.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Campbell; her grandparents: James and Amy (Smith) Agnes and LaMont and Lena (Hummel) Campbell; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
