John Lokhorst Dies
John Lokhorst was born Oct. 29th, he died at his home On Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 11, 1943 after being ill for about eight months due to heart trouble.

Jan Lokhorst was born Oct. 29th 1870 in the Netherlands. He came to America when he was 12 years old and has lived in this vicinity ever since. He married Mary Zwartz in January, 1900 and to this union 5 children were born, three of whom are living.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Jennie of Sheldon, Winnie (Mrs. A. Van Steenwyk of Bellflower Calif.) and Peter of Sioux Center; also two grandchildren and two brothers Wm of Hull and Peter of Sioux Center.

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at the home and at the First Reformed Church with Rev. L.A. Brunsting officiating. Burial was made at the local cemetery. Mrs. Van Steenwyk was unable to come home for the funeral as they have a new baby.
