The funeral of Grandma Anna Marie Rohlfs, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. C. Oloff, Monday June 11th was held last Thursday afternoon from the Christian Lutheran church in Grant Township, Plymouth county, Rev. Bunge being in charge. Burial was made in the family lot in the cemetery there.

She was born in Oldenburg, Germany. She and her husband and two children came to this country in 1876, locating in Jones County. In 1883 they came to Plymouth county locating in Grant Township on what is now the Wm. Johnson farm. Here they lived until her husband passed away in 1906. She kept house for some of the children for a time but for the last 21 years has made her home with her daughter Mrs. L. C. OLoff. She was the mother of eight children, six of whom are living. The two who preceded her in death were Mrs. Mary Maloney, who died in 1915, and Harm who died in France shortly after going overseas in the Wold War. The living are Mrs. Tena Oloff, John , M.J. and Fred, all reside on Route 1 from Ireton. Two brothers also survive, Ben Konken of Hartington, NE. and Henry Konken of Coleridege, NE. There are 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She had reached the age of 84 years, 10 months and 16 days.

Some years ago her faculties began failing and the infirmities of age finally overcame her strength and she went into that long peaceful sleep. She was a mother who was always concerned for the welfare of her family, hard working, full of faith and hope, careful and saving. She had the very best of care and nursing during the years of poor health and whatever loving hearts and kind hands could do to cheer her remaining day was done.
