Hawarden Independent of Oct 21, 1915

Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Benson residing northeast of Hawarden, were called upon last Thursday to mourn the death of their infant daughter La Von, aged 6 months and 4 days. The little one was taken ill on Monday from an obstruction of the bowels. Everything that medical skill and loving hands could do was done for her, but all efforts to save her life were unavailing and she passed away in just a few days after being taken sick. Brief funeral services were held at the home Friday and then the tiny body was taken to the Congregational church at Hudson where Rev. J. C. Treat spoke words of comfort to the bereaved ones. Interment was made in the Hudson cemetery. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the community in their hour of sorrow.
