Henry Kempers
Funeral services were held for Henry Kempers, 73, of Orange City Saturday afternoon in the American Reformed church of Orange City with Rev. A. Hook officiating. Interment was made in the Sioux Center cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral home.
Mr. Kempers passed away in the Orange City hospital where he had been a patient for a few days. He had been ill for several months.
Born at Preston, Minn., Mr. Kempers lived in various localities and was married to Jennie Geels in 1911. To this union three daughters were born, Mrs. Tony Wiersma of Orange City, Mrs. Ed Den Beste of Mapleton, Mrs. Ed Vander Vegte of Orange City: one son, Kenneth, of Sioux City. They are 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kempers preceded him in death in 1923.
Mr. Kempers married Bertha Koster in 1946, who survives. One sister, Mae Kempers of Preston, Minn., also survives. Three brothers preceded him in death, namely, John Gerrit and Ben Kempers.
